Siemens' equity shareholders approve Scheme of Amalgamation

26th April 2005: Siemens Ltd has informed BSE that the equity shareholders of the Company at the court convened meeting held on April 25, 2005, have approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Siemens VDO Automotive Ltd with the Company.

Varun Shipping acquires its eighth LPG Carrier

26th April 2005: Varun Shipping Company Ltd has informed BSE that it has acquired its eighth LPG Carrier, MAHARSHI DEVATREYA on April 25, 2005. The new vessel has a cargo carrying capacity of 35,559 cbm. With this acquisition, the company will now be operating a diversified fleet of 15 ships. The company's vessel acquisition was financed partly out of its own resources and partly out of long term loan from ICICI Bank Ltd.

Siemens Board approves proposal for amalgamation of DDITL

25th April 2005: Siemens Ltd has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on April 25, 2005, has approved the proposal for the amalgamation of Demag Delaval Industrial Turbomachinery Pvt Ltd, Mumbai (DDITL) with the Company. This transaction is subject to approvals of the shareholders, all requisite authorities and Bombay High Court. DDITL is a 100% subsidiary Company of the Company and is engaged in the business of design, manufacture and marketing of Industrial Turbines.
